The Omega series 3-(with Ultra Violet Water Steriliser) has been developed for treating tank, rain water, and making it safe for drinking by sterilising micro-organisms with UV light wavelengths between 250 and 270 nanometers (UVC band). It is extremely effective in killing many species of bacteria, mold spores, viruses and other microorganisms. The UV light causes DNA damage to the cells of the microorganisms that leads to mutations and cell death.
